NOTICE OF SUSPENSION
The majority of RECO's registrants have made the required insurance renewal payment by the Aug. 13, 2010 deadline.

The Registrar has now initiated the suspension process for registrants who have failed to make their required insurance payment. These registrants will be receiving a notice of suspension by registered mail which will become effective September 1, 2010. Suspended registrants are not entitled to trade in real estate and their names will be made available to the public on RECO's website.

Insurance payment due August 13, 2010
Please be advised that all registrants must make their insurance payment for the policy period from September 1, 2010 to September 1, 2011 by August 13, 2010. Invoice renewal packages should arrive at your address of service next week, or you may click here to view the package online. To make your insurance payment now, simply log into MyWeb and click on Insurance.

HST Reminder
As announced in the 2009 Ontario budget, the Provincial Sales Tax (PST) will be replaced with a tax that will be combined with the federal Goods and Services Tax (GST) to create a Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) for Ontario, effective July 1, 2010. The provincial portion of the HST will be eight per cent and the federal portion will be five per cent, for a combined HST rate of 13 per cent. For more information on how this affects real estate transactions, please refer to Ontario's Ministry of Revenue website.
