RE/MAX Right Choice Inc. Update – July 2018

 
On January, 4, 2018, the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) laid 13 charges under the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act, 2002 (REBBA) against:

    • RE/MAX Right Choice Inc. (4 charges);
    • Jalil Hajimir, former Broker of Record (4 charges); and
    • Mario Reis, former Broker of Record (5 charges).

 
The outcome of the matter is still pending in Court.

During a routine inspection on October 30, 2017, RECO discovered that a considerable sum of money was missing from Right Choice’s bank accounts. On November 3, 2017, the Registrar issued a Notice of Proposal to revoke Right Choice’s registration as a brokerage under REBBA.

Background
RE/MAX Right Choice Inc. was registered as a real estate brokerage in 2006 under REBBA. Its office was located at 6464 Yonge Street, Suite 250 in Toronto.

On November 1, 2017, under the authority of REBBA, the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) issued a Freeze Order, freezing bank accounts of RE/MAX Right Choice Inc.

On November 24, 2017, the Registrar of RECO carried out a Notice of Proposal to revoke the registration of Right Choice under REBBA. RECO has since revoked its registration.
