About RECO’s Town Halls

This fall, we’ve been busy touring the province to host Town Hall meetings with leadership of local real estate boards and brokerages.

Since September, RECO has visited Sudbury, Hamilton, Ottawa, Kitchener, Peterborough, and London. And on December 7, we’ll host the final Town Hall in Toronto.

At each meeting, we have made a point of opening the floor, so audience members could ask us questions and share their opinions. Several themes have emerged.

Registrants told us they are pleased that we’re making service improvements and posting our service standards publicly.

And many asked that we provide classroom learning as an option for Mandatory Continuing Education.

When it comes to REBBA reform, registrants expressed mixed opinions about multiple representation rule changes. However, attendees have been in favour of expanding the powers of the Discipline and Appeals Committee so that they can suspend or revoke registrations in cases of severe misconduct.
